Narrative: SPRUCE MESSAGE VISIT Date: 2024-01-23 Encounter: Spruce text message CC: Abdominal pain and vomiting with concern for appendicitis. HPI: Henry vomited once the prior night and was holding his mid/lower abdomen, describing pain that came and went. No fever. Parent was concerned about appendicitis. Assessment: Dr. Hobbs reassured parent that intermittent, come-and-go abdominal pain is more consistent with a stomach bug than appendicitis, which typically presents with constant, worsening pain and almost always fever. Plan: Monitor at home. Watch for constant/worsening pain and fever, which would be red flags for appendicitis. No escalation required at this time. Key clinical quotes: "Come and go is good and normal for stomach bugs. Appendicitis tends to be more constant and worsening" "Almost always with a fever" Source: Spruce conversation t_226ST10QO3800
