Narrative: SPRUCE MESSAGE VISIT Date: 2026-01-02 Encounter: Spruce text message CC: Continued development of new infected skin lesions (approximately one per week) on legs and arm over 6–8 weeks, consistent with molluscum with recurrent secondary bacterial infections. HPI: Theo had been developing approximately one new infected skin lesion per week on his legs and one on his arm over the preceding 6–8 weeks. The parent had developed an effective home management protocol involving warm soaks, allowing lesions to come to a head, then draining and applying mupirocin with twice-daily bandage changes. Despite use of Hibiclens soap twice in the prior week, new lesions continued to appear. The parent asked whether recurrent infection of molluscum lesions was expected and whether other interventions could prevent future infections. Assessment: Dr. Hobbs assessed that the ongoing pattern of recurring infected molluscum lesions warranted a course of oral antibiotics to attempt to clear the infection cycle. Plan: Oral antibiotic prescription sent to Walgreens on Vernon.
