- Whole milk at 12 months
Transition from formula or breast milk to whole cow's milk at 12 months — limit to 16-24 oz/day to prevent iron-deficiency anemia. Most kids continue with whole milk until age 2, then move to skim or 1%. Continue breastfeeding as long as you both want; AAP supports through 2+ years.
- First MMR / Varicella
MMR and Varicella vaccines today. Common reactions: low-grade fever 7-10 days after, mild rash 7-10 days after. Both are normal immune response, not contagious. Tylenol for fever; call us for anything above 105 or for behavior changes.
